I’m a Leicester based British-Cypriot with half of my heart still rooted in Limassol. I’ve been married since 2023 and am a first time mum to a lovely little boy. I’m also a part-time primary teacher and, now, business owner.

When I started teaching, I really felt that it was my calling. I was 25, full of energy and determination and never imagined doing anything else. I felt the skills I’d developed from my multiple backgrounds really helped me develop a unique teaching style and I truly enjoyed the side of my career that allowed me to connect with others. The work behind the scenes, however, was not so rewarding. There was more red tape than planning, more data logging than connection and more stress than enjoyment. Despite this, I still made it to my 6th year of full-time teaching, telling myself that my struggles all fed into a bigger purpose and it was a slippery slope to becoming a workaholic.

Then, after having my little boy in late 2024, my whole outlook on life completely changed. Before going on maternity leave I thought would return full-time to continue my contributions to “the bigger purpose”, but soon the reality of going back to work crept into our peaceful days together and I decided that part-time was all that I was willing to do.

I thought it would be easier, but it wasn’t. Same system, same problems, same stress, less days to complete everything. Whilst crawling to the end of my first year back, we were feeling the financial strain in the house. Days off were planned around my bank account and we’d had enough of the financial restrictions that came with part-time pay. So, I reluctantly requested to return full-time after the summer holidays…

Then - by some miracle - it wasn’t available and something better fell into my lap (or into my insta feed).

• a chance to earn without the burnout and without the time tradeoff

• involving support and a team of people who’d taken the leap before me

• a business plan following a proven system that others had tried and tested

• work that can be completed anywhere with internet connection (yay for more visits with family in Cyprus!)

• a little something that I can call my own without the pain of not being around for my child

Most of all:

• income that would actually work around my family’s needs and not against them

It was owning my own business in high ticket affiliate marketing.
